EAU CLAIRE BASEBALL TEAM

The Eau Claire Cavaliers were formed to provide, promote, and field a baseball team that shall compete at the highest level of competition. Local players will have the opportunity to join the Cavaliers and represent the organization through their play and in promoting community interest in the team and baseball at all age levels.

Steeped in tradition, Cavaliers continue hometown legacy of community involvement

The first pitch of the Eau Claire Cavaliers’ 53rd season is set for Sunday and those who have been associated with the squad — many since its inception — feel that with continued community support, the baseball team will continue for many decades to come.

“Eau Claire has always been a strong baseball town and has always had a strong youth program,” Dick Gannon, who was one of five who founded the Cavaliers 53 years ago, said. “There was really no program around in Eau Claire at the time for these kids to play baseball.”

And so began the proud tradition of the Eau Claire Cavaliers.

  • HARV TOMTER MEMORIAL BEST PITCHER AWARD

    Named after the late Harv Tomter who coached from 1979-2005. This award is based on stats

    Winner is: Lucas Costley

  • DAVE HEPFLER MEMORIAL KEY PLAYER AWARD

    Named after the late Dave Hepfler who is former player/coach, this award can go to any player that plays multiple positions or a team leader.

    Winner is: Gabe O’Brien

  • DAVE JOHNSON TEAM CAPTAIN AWARD

    Named after Dave Johnson who played from 1971-1986 and this award is voted by the team.

    Winner is: Cole Tyman, Cooper Kapanke

  • RICHARD O'BRIEN MEMORIAL MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AWARD

    Named after the late Richard O'Brien who was a former board member and the award is voted by the team.

    Winner is: Lucas Costley

  • HAM OLIVE MEMORIAL BEST FIRST YEAR PLAYER AWARD

    Name after the late Ham Olive who was a former umpire and this award was started in 1982.

    Winner is: Jack Redwine & Andrew Milner

  • LEADING HITTER

    This award is based on stats.

    Winner is: Xavier Bembnister

  • MOST IMPROVED

    This award is based on stats for a player that improved his stats from last season or has improved his stats from this season.

    Winner is: Xavier Bembnister & Tyson Allen-Woodcock

  • SAM KRUGER MEMORIAL SERVICE AWARD

    This was originally named the Uniroyal Award and in the later years it was changed to the Sam Kruger Memorial Service Award. The definition of this award goes to a player that demonstrates leadership, dedication, loyalty and sportsmanship on and off the field.

    Winner is: Caden Erickson

  • GLENN ST. ARNAULT MEMORIAL LOYALTY AWARD

    This award will be presented to an individual who has contributed to the Cavalier’s Baseball Organization with exceptional interest, dedication, and loyalty. This award is decided by the president, the field manager, and a member of the St. Arnault Family.

    Winner is: Cole Tyman & Lois Hove
